    Objectives

    Upon completion of this course, participants will learn:

    • What a hazardous chemical or substance is.
    • How to minimise risk when using chemicals.
    • How to report hazardous chemical incidents.
    • Correct storage and handling of chemicals.
    • How to read hazard labels on chemical products.
    • What a Safety Data Sheet is and how to use one.

    Designed for

    This course is designed for organisation-wide delivery and provides employees and employers with general knowledge of the legal requirements, basic principles, and best practices relating to the correct handling, storage and use of chemical substances in the workplace.

    Outcomes

    On successful completion of this course participants will gain the necessary information to be able to correctly identify and classify hazardous chemicals. Participants will also learn what the correct PPE is that they must wear whilst handling chemicals, how to read hazardous statements and labels, what a Safety Data Sheet is, and what to do in the case of a chemical emergency.
