Ballymore Group is an international property investment and development company focused on large scale projects across Europe.
Ballymore is responsible for some of the most high-profile developments in London such as Royal Wharf, Spitafields Market, Providence Tower, London City Island. In Europe they have rolled out projects including the Sheraton Bratislava Hotel and Kuddam Karee in Berlin. Ballymore had the difficult task of training large quantities of staff and contractors up to industry accredited standard. Their existing process of instructor-led training was costly and time consuming, what’s more it was a real challenge to maintain records and administer each project.
Ballymore launched an online induction service designed by Olive Learning. According to Ronan Mullins of Ballymore Group it has become an “overwhelming success” for the company. They have inducted well over 5,000 construction related workers varying from project managers to site labourers.
Mullins says that the quality of the video based online courses is “exceptional”. He says that because the AHQ LMS allowed for staff to learn on any device in any location “online learning is not bound by geography or time, you can manage the training’s impact against production by training people during down times. In other words, in their own time. In addition you’re asking people to do a method of learning which is a great way to give them the tools and skills needed to improve their professional performance.”
Ballymore found the system easy to administer from a managerial point of view, stating “The quality of training provided in the online video is second to none.” It helped to speed up the induction process on all projects by nearly 70%. Ballymore are currently working with Olive Learning to expand the online training academy. We will be adding more courses for its construction project related workforce such as several ROSPA accredited training courses and numerous other types of bespoke in-house training courses.
